What to do after applying mehndi:

Let it dry naturally
Allow the mehndi to dry completely. Keep it on for 6–8 hours or overnight for best results. -
Avoid movement
Try not to move your hands or feet too much while the mehndi is drying. -
Apply lemon–sugar solution
Dab a lemon and sugar mixture gently on the dried mehndi. This helps deepen the color. -
Give heat to the mehndi
Warmth helps the color develop. You can take clove (laung) steam or keep your hands warm. -
Do not wash with water
Remove the dried mehndi by scraping it off, not washing it with water. Avoid water for at least 24 hours. -
Apply oil or balm
After removing mehndi, apply mustard oil, coconut oil, or any balm to protect and darken the stain. -
Avoid soap and water
Stay away from soap, sanitizer, and excessive water for 24–48 hours.
